- 2 - So long, therefore, as W. maintain the attitude of not approving of the drive, we naturally cannot adopt it. I am writing you privately because we have been a little sore about this particular matter from the start and having failed to obtain W's approval, it was a little disconcerting to be asked what our objections were [obliterated] to it. I wonder if you could take the matter up with the Department concerned and see if you can get it formally approved for us. We all really dislike the suction type. We are not keen to change over to electric device as we believe it would be very difficult to satisfy R.{Sir Henry Royce} with an electrical wiper, and therefore should like the Smith one definitely approved. Yours sincerely, A.{Mr Adams} F.{Mr Friese} Sidgreaves. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} for me. | ||
