re PHANTOM II SPRINGING AND S.A.CONTROL

We recently received a complaint from S. (Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}4/KW6.4.34, under cover of Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}22/R.5.4.34) that a trial run on their Trials Car/21-RY (low rated springs - S.A.control) had been turned down by a customer owing to springing being "too soft and also made his wife ill".

We felt sure that evidently full use had not been made by the driver of the S.A.control and informed them accordingly.

S. have replied that the customer is now satisfied with his trial run on 38-FY (standard springs and S.A.control).

We understand the Repair Department have also had similar experiences with their customers on Phantom II with low rated springs, in spite of the S.A.control being fitted.

It must be realised that we have now standardised low rated springs on Phantom II chassis with S.A.control fitted.

S.are not pushing for any change so long as they have a cure for those who dislike low rated springs. We consider it advisable to take full stock of our Repair Department and Depot experienced.
