MIDDX.

For the attention of Mr. K.M.Petter.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of September 19th. we note the cost of the two Bentley Relief Valves which you made experimentally. You will appreciate that we were not warned of the expense likely to be incurred. I, personally, should not have sanctioned the experiments had I know that these two thermostats would have cost more than £5 a pair. I therefore suggest that we are prepared to contribute £5 towards the cost.

This seems to us to be reasonable in view of the large volume of business you are getting on aviation work.

We do not wish you to proceed with the modification to this valve owing to the international situation.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
