1049 Experimental Department 30th October 1936. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}1/AP. W.Chayne Esq., The Buick Motor Co., Flint, Michigan, U.S.A. Dear Mr.Chayne, I believe on your 1937 models you have evolved a device for preventing the second gear working out of mesh whilst over running down a hill. On the information I am able to obtain, I cannot understand how the system works and wondered whether you would be good enough to get one of your engineers to write us a line giving us the low-down on this particular trouble. Like other people we have not yet evolved a 100% cure. Kindest regards, Yours sincerely, | ||
