Drawing No. Part List Origin. This spring gives the same load with the valve open, but less with the valve on the seat, reducing engine gear rattles. Is less stressed than std. springs. Experimental Test Report. Is fitted to 4 units in Expl. Dept. Valves bounce at same speed as with Std. spring. No spring has broken. Done about 6,000 miles on 18.G.IV. and several hours on test bed unit. Road Test Report. Fitted to 19.G.IV. and ran 2,000 miles in France. Weight of Old Part.
