TO BY FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to - BJ " EFC. ORIGINAL E2/M3.7.26. EAC. 7. IGNITION CONTROLS AND ADVANCE CURVES. X4685 We send you herewith drawings LeCs. 2262. & 2265., dealing with the above. The former drawing is only a rough scheme and requires setting out and completing. The exact proportions however of the ignition differential are given, and we are send-ing you a working model of this piece of mechanism under separate cover. Regarding LeC. 2265., it will be noticed that the range of the governor advance on the flywheel, including the small initial advance by the servo piston, has been reduced to 25°. This alteration is accomplished by reducing the length of the external control lever on the ignition servo. The object of the special ignition differential is to maintain the battery and magneto ignitions in absolute synchronism during the period of the magneto hand advance, that is, between positions 1. and 2. on LeC. 2265.
