Chevrolet have developed a method of fitting brake linings without rivets which they say is quite successful. It consists of moulding the lining to a strip of steel, which is formed with steel tongues the lining is fastened to the shoe by bending these tongues over the end of the shoe

so that the lining is renewable with ease.
