HARDY, EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. Dear Sirs, FABROIL GEARS With further reference to our letter of November 21st. We have now pleasure in sending you under separate cover a gear blank that has been made up from a special fine mesh fabric material, which we would like you to try out. The gear the writer brought away with him from your Works has been carefully examined in our Laboratory, but we find nothing wrong with either the material or manufacture that would account for the excessive wear you experienced. As we believe there is a definite possibility that the fine mesh fabric material illustrated by the sample we now send you may resist wear to a greater degree than our standard material, we trust you will be able to finish off the wheel and subject it to a concentrated test alongside a wheel in our standard fabric such as we regularly send you. A report on your findings after the test has been completed will be very much appreciated by us. Assuring you of our hearty co-operation at all times. Yours faithfully, J.S.
