X.3374.-CHASSIS LIGHTING.

Attached is a copy of a note we received from the O.O. stating that we have received certain lamps. We have persistently made application for these lamps at the various stores and have not been able, so far, to obtain them. We shall be glad if those concerned will look into this matter and find out what has become of these lamps, and why they are not sent to the Exptl. Dept, or preferably, in the case of small things like these, to this office. It ought to be possible for the stores to inform us from their records who has signed for these lamps. We are continually having cases in which we receive notes from the O.O. saying that things have been received, and yet on application we are not able to get them. We think there must be something wrong with the system somewhere which wants altering as it is a waste of time and energy to be continually chasing round about things of this sort.

We should be glad if in cases where things are definitely ordered from this officethe stores should be definitely informed that the order did emanate from this office so that they would not then send things out indiscriminately with the result that things get lost.
