X.7960. PN.{Mr Northey}5/WT30.7.30. S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}..from PN.{Mr Northey} Copy to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} RG.{Mr Rowledge} N. 1-WJ. Telegage. The gauge on this car showed 2 gallons when the tank was empty. The following is an extract from H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Hobson Ltd. "With regard to Rolls-Royce car No. 1-WJ., examined to-day, we beg to state that there was too much liquid in the Telegage dash unit, so that it read 1 1/2 gallons high, and also the pressure balance line was wet with petrol due to the nut on the dash unit not being tightened sufficiently" Within your experience, are the reasons given likely to affect other Rolls-Royce cars having this gauge.
