Resolving brake arm and noise issues by fitting a cushioned stop and considering a dash pot solution.

-2- arm does not return to its zero point. We find however, that if we fit a stop to the front equaliser shaft, the trouble which at present occurs when the swinging arm friction increases temporarily, is overcome. The stop itself requires cushioning with a piece of Ferodo and the attached sketch indicates the manner in which this has been carried out. Having silenced the servo, the noise of the brake pedal hitting its stop becomes very noticeable, but can easily be cured by a pad of Ferodo on the stop. We attach a report from GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} on these stops and also on a dash pot which he tried out and which appears to be an almost complete solution to the trouble.
