CHASSIS. STROMBERG CARBURETTERS. Referring to LA.{L. A. Archer}6/T.13.11.36. when I was informed over the 'phone that a fibre washer was still being used in the above carburetters to secure the needle seat I at once wrote to the Zenith Co. (ref. BY.10/G.13.11.36.) and pointed out that this fibre washer would have to be replaced by an aluminium washer. I have received a letter from them informing me that this matter will have their immediate attention, and they wrote me again early this week giving me particulars of what they are doing. At the same time I asked them to make a note that in future no fibre washers would be used on any carburetters they were producing for this Company, as we had proved them to be unreliable due to the fact that they absorb moisture from the air, and if put in in a moist condition invariably become slack and cause a failure.
