Query regarding the compatibility of tungsten points with different battery ignition systems.

It would appear that tungsten points will stand in Delco battery ignition, but not on R.R. Why? Is the primary circuit different, or the condenser ? We know the Delco is 6 volt while R.R. is 12 volt, but I should have thought this would rather favour the life through not wanting so many amperes. Kindly let me know.
