Findings on oil pipe and bearing adjustments following component removal.

We also found that, after the removal of the (E.57860) swivel plugs from the bearing caps the (EB.I06) oil pipes could be moved sideways by hand on the oil tubes; the lock nuts, however, were tight and the lock washers correctly fitted. We realise that the oil pipes must not be over-tightened on the cone of the oil tubes, for fear of breaking the swaged portion of the oil pipe.

We are now lightly scraping the faces of the main bearings and we shall leave the working clearances as near standard as possible.

We will report to you at a later date re oil flow and oil pressure when we next test the car.
