16 m.m. tube - specific weight empty including ends

weight of one end adaptor only - 2 1/2 ozs.

24 m.m. tube - specific weight empty including ends
.78 lb. per ft.
weight of one end adaptor only - 4 1/2 ozs.

Since small pieces of rubber are sometimes nipped off the gland when tightening up, it is advisable that the pipe should be situated always so that a filter is interposed between it and any part of the engine where small orifices or valves exist, and in connection with Vickers type petrol relief valves. Care should be taken to avoid long lenths unless frictional loss in the pipe is unimportant.

Further developments

Specimens of these two sizes of pipes are being installed in an aircraft for flight testing.
