To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} (Strikethrough) c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BWG{J. C. Bowring} x2677 ROY{Sir Henry Royce}3/MG27.6.34 File The S.U.Company write as copy attached. I have asked the Stores to pass the modified Pump in question direct to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on receipt. 26.6.34 "We are arranging to send you a sample "modified pump. This instrument gives a larger "output than the pump we are at present supplying "to you. "We find that the output varies fairly "considerably with the length of suction and "delivery pipe and, therefore, it is probable that "if you require more petrol than this instrument "is capable of giving under normal conditions of "usage it will probably be possible to get this "increase by using a larger pipe than 3/8", for "which it is designed. "You will notice that the terminals "fitted are those which we use on our standard "pumps. We are now fitting the coil lead above "the moulding instead of underneath it, and with "this arrangement there is no room for the big "Ross Courtney terminal. In practice we have "had no trouble at all with our own terminals. "Awaiting your comments in due course. Yours faithfully, for the S.U.CO. sgd. R.Leslie Kent ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
