x202 COPY 26.9.34. BENTLEY REAR AXLE - GB.619. OIL FLINGER TESTS. A complete axle was filled to the normal level - approximately 1 1/4 pts. of oil being required - then tilted to an angle of 30º, by raising the N.S. wheel. The oil level at this angle covered the gap between the lower part of the baffle plate, the axle shaft, and the oil flinger. At an angle of 18º the oil just reached the lower lip of the baffle, therefore, above that angle the flinger is rendered useless. W. Bell. | ||
