Bm.26/MJ. 2nd. November. 1936. -2- "INFORMATION DESIRED RE. GENERAL MOTORS BABBIT TECHNIQUE AND FATIGUE IMPROVEMENT ARE SUPPLIES OF BABBIT AVAILABLE ENGLAND ALTERNATIVELY CAN G.M. SUPPLY." Nobody seems very enthusiastic about the high lead content Babbitt over here so that I want to check up whether it is really the stuff Pontiacs are now using and what improvement it really makes. Our Aluminium Alloy stuff is going along reasonably well but is not nearly so kind to crankshafts as Babbitt. Kind regards to Mrs. Olley. Yours sincerely, | ||
