Dear Sirs,

Your ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/AD.

Replying to your letter of the 22nd inst, the cost of providing screwed terminals would be more than the difference in price per pair of connectors, in fact, there would be an extra of 1/5d. over and above the saving effected by the cheaper connectors. It would, of course, facilitate standardisation and interchangeability if you used taper pillard and S.M.M.T. terminal connectors.

Regarding dimensions, we use different makes of containers for the type of battery (3.XC15/1H) the largest having a width of 6.7/8" which we show in our catalogue. The one we should supply to you would measure 6.11/16" wide, but we would suggest that you make provision for the larger dimensions in case any of your users are obliged to fit a standard Exide battery at any time, and which may be of this larger width. The height dimension is absolutely overall.

Yours faithfully,

For the CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO.LTD.
