M.R. 586a./5m./T/C/S. Oct. 1918-500 C. 5115 X.295 To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. c. CJ. EFC1/T25.4.19. X.3362 RE LIGHTING INSTALLATION AT W.W. We have received from the Weston Company one of their Model 289 Weston 30/o/30 ampere meters and this we are instructing to be despatched to you to-day. (X.1782). Will you kindly have returned the one small round cut-out which was sent as a sample and which is slightly dissimilar to the dozen recently sent, as it is necessary to return this one to the owner. Regarding your note R1/G15.4.19, we are now preparing the Bijur dynamo on 49-GB with the resistance in series with the field circuit so that it will run as a plain 12-volt shunt machine at a suitable speed. We are unwinding the regulator and re-winding this for 12 volts and we shall use this in conjunction with a plain 12 volt shunt wound dynamo in our further experiments on this type of regulation. We have recently received a dynamo from Messrs. Smith which is controlled on the lines of the Trier & Martin patent. It is very easy to use this as a simple shunt wound machine. EFC.
