Your reference Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /RC. {R. Childs} 6/JH We have received from you 8 Headlamp bulbs and a sample holder, your ref. HPS {Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} /WSC. {W. S. Cassel} 1/BA.24.8.38, on loan, for which we thank you. We regret that the sample bulbs were sent to you with the wrong type of cap and we shall be glad to send you further samples of bulbs fitted with three pin caps tofit your holder, if you will be so good as to give us information on the following points:- a. {Mr Adams} What is the distance from the pins of the cap to the middle of the filament? b. Is the position of the plungers in the holder vertical or horizontal, and is one of the slots immediately above the plunger, or below them? If you prefer to send us a sample bulb - an old one will do - with a mark to indicate which point on the bulb is in the top position when fitted in the holder, we shall be able to get the information we need. As soon as we know what is needed, we shall put the sample bulbs in hand without delay. Thanking you in anticipation.
