To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to SE. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG19.2.29. 'SS{S. Smith}' ENGINE FEET. 47005 We have fitted to 20-EX car - (this car has mostly been used for experiments on engine feet) the engine feet to LeC. 2649. We have not yet been able to obtain the diamond pattern rubbers so these were fitted up with plain rubber. When the car was run on the road the result was # that the oscillation on the front of the car was bad - it was approximately the same as with the original engine feet. As regards absence of engine vibrations, the car was very good. In this respect it was better than when it was running with temporary engine feet. We are now arranging to reduce the thickness of the rubber and shall have the car running again shortly. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
