To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Krob Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}5/KW.12.12.35. Steel Brake Shoes. As we explained in our memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}17/KW. 21.11.35, we have had trouble on Ph.III due to unequal expansion of shoes and drum. We can reduce this trouble by using a metal bonded Ferodo. We would like all experimental steel shoes fitted with F.B.A. Zinc bonded material until further notice. This applies to the Bentley 14" dia. steel shoes instructed on N.Sch.4642, and we would like an alteration made on drawings GB.2120, 2130 and 2115 accordingly. We want to get this material used on Ph.III ultimately, so would be glad if you would refrain from ordering large quantities of Ferodo for this car. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.F.Martindale. | ||
