Notes of Conference held in 'Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s' Room, February 9th 1932.

RE: CHASSIS WORK.

Present:- E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
RHO.
Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}

P.II. Synchromesh Gearbox.

He thought there would be an urgent demand for a Phantom II. synchromesh gearbox immediately the 20/25-HP got into circulation.
Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} stated that he had purposely kept the Works tight on the present Phantom II. gearbox work, that is to say, we have only for some time been going hand to mouth in order that immediately the synchromesh gearbox was decided upon it could be put into production as quickly as possible.
RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} hopes to get on test experimentally the Phantom II. (SM) gearbox in about five weeks from now, namely March 15th.

P.II. Continental Model.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} criticised the present "petrol pump" we might have trouble with it and if it were to fail, the car would be completely stuck up.
E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} stated that he knew exactly what was required - an independant unit - and he will do his best to supply the necessary design as quickly as possible.

19-EX. Continental Model.

This is being prepared for a 10,000 miles road test and it will be fitted with all the agreed continental improvements, including the synchromesh gearbox, but will be minus the RR-SU carburettor.
It is hoped to have the car ready for this test in about five weeks time (March 15th.).

JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} & Peregrine Bodywork.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will urge the two types that are required by Experimental Dept. and obtain a promise for delivery, which promise must be kept, because it is hoped that the former chassis will be ready for running round about Easter, and the latter round about Whitsuntide.
