HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} } FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} RY. [struck through] ORIGINAL R5/M7.9.27. C to DG. WC. R.{Sir Henry Royce} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [struck through] 40HP. & 20HP. CARBURRETTERS. X8080 [struck through] Y4351 X5080 It will be remembered that I experienced corrosion of air valve, causing sticking. The following is the suggested improvement - (1) Cathode treatment of air valve. (2) Hall or other alloy that is not so corrodible, though the specific gravity is under3. The first would be good if fitting and polishing does not remove the protective surface, possibly therefore/item (2) is the better, but could this have cathode treatment if it is found effective after surface removed by fitting and polishing.
