COPY OF LETTER RECEIVED FROM: ATLAS & NORFOLK WORKS, SHEFFIELD. WHH/MN. 23rd.July 1937. R.W.Harvey-Bailey, Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr Bailey, Experimental Spiral Road Springs. Further to our discussion last week we are sending you today 2 further sets of springs as follows:- A.{Mr Adams} Nos. 6 and 8. (drawing No.83698) Nos.12 and 13.( " " 83692). C. Nos. 7 and 9. ( drawing " 83698) Nos. 4.and 10.( " " 83692). The intermediate set B. was left with you last week. We have a further spare of set B, marked No.11, which we are also sending. The letters A, B, and C denote different standards as regards final tempering treatment, these being respectively, at 350°C., 375°C., and 400°C. We shall be pleased to learn the results of tests on these springs in due course. Copies of our own loading test results are attached herewith. Yours sincerely, W.H.Hatfield. | ||
