STEERING WHEELS AND SEATS.

We asked LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} and the Coachbuilding Committee to consider the information given in R2/M16.11.25, and the following is an extract from the minutes of the meeting:-

"LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} read memos. R2/M16.11.25 and DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Evl/M-17.11.25. It was recalled that at the meeting of the Sub-committee on 8.11.25 when Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} was present, it was pointed out that some drivers seem to experience difficulty in seeing over the top of the steering wheel when the column is in the 'D' position and it was suggested that it would help if the distance between the cushion and the wheel be 8" instead of 9" as shown on the coachbuilders drawing, so bringing the driver 1" higher.
However, the sub-committee noted R's views as set out in the memos. referred to above and would like to hear in due course the results of trying the proposed new steering wheel."

Doubtless Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} will arrange for us to inspect the new suggested steering wheel when it is prepared.
