EW6. MAGNETOS.

With reference to Watford EW6 magneto No.100081, which failed on chassis 10-EX due to faulty contact breaker points, having taken up this matter with the makers, we have received a reply of which the attached is a copy.

You will note that in their opinion petrol or petrol vapour has found its way into the cam cage and that they suggest that an investigation of the cause of this reaching the magneto should be made.

We should be pleased to have your views in due course. May it, for instance, be a result of swabbing the engine down with paraffin ?
