Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c, to BJ. War. X8090 R4/M16.4.27. PHANTOM TAPPET NOISES. X.8060 X.8090 I think we should be quite certain that the alteration of the rockers is really the thing which is making the valves fall on their seats more quietly. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and R.{Sir Henry Royce} cannot see any reason for a definite improvement because the scrub is even greater, and the valve must be the full amount of the slack out of place. I do not say Derby is wrong, but owing to want of reason for the improvement, I say it should be doubly confirmed. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
