X.4430 - CONDENSERS.

The 88° sentinel fitted to the coil on 7GII has melted.

With reference to the two condensers Nos. 1c and 494 fitted to 6GII and 7GII respectively, and the question of whether they shall continue to be recorded on the chassis logs, it has been confirmed that the modifications embodied in these two condensers, i.e. extra packing in condenser 494, and extra packing and improved method securing connecting strip to lid {A. J. Lidsey} in condenser 1 c, are now standard. [Handwritten note: Not yet.]

In this sense therefore they are not experimental.

As these two condensers, however, are really undergoing tests from which some useful information might be obtained, it is suggested that they be recorded on the new log until such time as we have a chance of again having them in the laboratory for examination and test.
