The first impression was that for London the springs or the tyres were too hard. It was reported to be due to stiff shock dampers. This is not good for town work. The car generally was not good enough: the torque reactions and impulses are felt too much. Perhaps the engine is rather high in compression. It seemed very powerful at slow speeds. The back axle had a slight over-run gear noise. The clutch and 3rd. gear seemed very good. The L. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} rear door shivered with engine vibrations. This particular car has been a very bad one for all sorts of noises and vibrations, and we ought not to part with it until we have used it to demonstrate if our chassis can be made satisfactorily to carry such a body. I suggest we fit it up the best way we know, with diamond mounting, and thinner disc to flywheel. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
