Reduction of the spring rating for the side steering tube to reduce road shocks.

SIDE STEERING TUBE. +8450 We are contemplating reducing the rating of the present side steering tube spring. The object of doing this is to reduce the road shocks on the steering wheel. The present standard side steering tube spring has a rating of 3500 lbs/in. We have previously run springs in France with a rating of 1000 lbs./in. (F.71401). These were too highly stressed and frequently broke. We should like to try a rating of about 2000 lbs. working under a reasonable stress if you could detail one in the immediate future.
