ANNUAL HOLIDAY 1940 - STAFF.

The following has been agreed with regard to the Staff annual holiday -

The Staff will have a fortnight's holiday, as previously. This must, however, be organised so as to interfere as little as possible with the continuity of output.

Commercial Staff.

It is recognised that it is not practicable for all members of the Commercial Staff to be away together, therefore it is left to the discretion of the Departmental Chiefs to arrange a spread-over. This must be organised so that the holiday period is condensed as much as possible, and the maximum number are away during the Works holiday week (July 27th to August 3rd inclusive).

Drawing Office & Technical Office Staffs.

It is recommended that the holiday should take place during the Works week and the following week (July 27th to August 10th inclusive). It will be necessary to retain a skeleton staff in these offices during the week August 3rd to 10th, and Departmental Chiefs will take what action they consider necessary.

Senior officials who have in the past had three weeks' holiday should take the fortnight July 27th to August 10th, and take a third week at some later date. This will ensure that no official is away for more than two consecutive weeks.

Will Departmental Chiefs please send one copy of their completed holiday lists to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/KW, and one copy direct to G/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
