X4079 To EY. from EFC. EFC1/T31.5.24. X.4079 - REDMANOL ENCASED COIL. I have a note from R.{Sir Henry Royce} copy of which is attached. A number of tests have been carried out on three tall redmanol encased coils, which you instructed to be supplied to us some time back, and we hope shortly to be able to give a full report on these tests. In another of R's notes addressed to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} he remarks that his 6-EX car has still only one of the short mouldensite encased coils, which fact is confirmed by our records. I should like to be able to send R.{Sir Henry Royce} one of these tall redmanol encased coils and I think it would be desirable to have some further coils for experiment. We should therefore be glad if you would instruct up another set of three to be handed to us, one of which I will pass on to R.{Sir Henry Royce} for 6-EX. The three we have are all mounting up mileage on experimental cars, and so far there have been no faults. In fact they have all been definitely reported to be as good in operation as the standard coil. I do not want you to think that I am partial to the use of one kind of coil or another, it is merely that I think a fair test should be given. EFC. | ||
