Dear Howlett,

Thank you for your letter of
the 28th. March regarding your rear axle half
shaft failure.

I think if you ring up Bellringer
at Hythe Road, you will find that he has a spare axle
and will be able to use it to get your car in commission
if you want to use it.

I should certainly recommend having
both half shafts changed whilst the axle is down.

With regard to the cost of the
replacement, your car is now out of the guarantee
and therefore the Company is under no obligation to do
this job free, you see.

It is a most disconcerting failure
and I am very sorry it has happened. We are examining
the pieces at Derby.

Yours sincerely,
