TESTING IN FRANCE - B.V.

we are proposing to send 8.B.V. to France in about a week's time to continue running.

Having got a figure of merit for the car under our standardisation tests at Chateauroux, we should now like to arrange that the remainder of the running should be done under more varied conditions.

With this object in view, we are proposing for the car to be driven over periods of one week by the Section engineers in turn.

This will enable them to observe the functionning of their particular section of the chassis under varying conditions, and at the same time, the mileage should be actually accomplished for less cost than if the test were run at Chateauroux. It will also release the Chateauroux personnel to complete the development of the next car which will represent the finalised B.V. when it goes to France.

We recommend that living expenses, at the rate of £1 per day, per head, should be paid while the car is being run in this fashion, which will be exclusive of all running expenses of the car.

Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and his assistants will, of course, drive the car during one of these periods of a week.
