Bleaney - Bentley Sales}11/HEM.1.5.34, we would not recommend an Owner to take the Bentley over to the States in the winter. Even in the Summer we should have thought it would have been a much more satisfactory proposition to buy an American car over there. Actually the only American car which approaches the semi-sports class is the latest V.8 Ford. This really goes exceptionally well and one does not notice the poor road holding and moderate brakes because the road conditions are entirely different to those which one encounters in England. The Ford car costs about 600 dollars plus State tax as a Sedan. A more comfortable car of better quality is the new LaSalle, which sells at about 1600 dollars. This, however, has not the performance of the Ford. I found that the Bentley ran satisfactorily on almost any American petrol. All the better brands contain lead.
