re. 20-HP Suspension. Engine Damping Device.

We have now had considerable experience with the above, and we find that the most effective damping range is to set them between 7 - 10 Lbs.

According to the instructions and drawing E53049 this specifies 14 Lbs. and we find with the present construction it is difficult to get less than 7 or 8 Lbs.

We shall be glad, therefore, unless Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has any objection, for an alteration to be made to this drawing so that the specified load suggested in the first place is 10 lbs. but we require the split pin holes in the bolt altered so that we can obtain a range of 5 - 15 lbs. This we feel would require more than one split pin hole.

We attempt, and we also have instructed our service Depots accordingly, to fix the damping device with only just sufficient damping to be effective, and we are anxious that the construction should be such that this can be carried out.
