OVERHEATING.

In view of the trouble that we have had with overheating of the present standard 40/50 h.p. engines when used abroad, and as a very large number of our customers take their cars abroad each year, would you please ascertain from R.{Sir Henry Royce} whether he would like an M.A.C.II car to proceed immediately to Spain and Italy to be tested during the few remaining weeks of the summer, to ascertain how it behaves under the conditions of mountain climbing and heat. In a few weeks' time it will be too late to obtain any practical experience.

We would suggest that the Hispano should go out at the same time and be tested in the same manner, to ascertain whether it gives better or worse results. If necessary it might be advisable to take a standard 40/50 h.p. car out at the same time, so that comparisons could be made, as we are very anxious that the M.A.C.II should be considerably superior to the present 40/50 h.p. and as good as other makes of cars in regard to heating.
