HALL'S CAR.

We have had a discussion with Mr. Hall regarding his racing car which has been in the Repair Dept. for a long time. There are a number of features on this car which make it unsuitable for sale in the ordinary way. A number of these parts are quite useful, however, for experimental and development work.

Our recommendation is that where we can utilise these parts experimentally, we should remove them from the car and replace them with standard parts free of charge.

In cases where the part is of no use to us at all, we recommend that a standard piece should be fitted and Mr. Hall should pay for it.

Briefly, we should like to deal with the car as follows:-

(1) Leave the axle and gearbox as at present. It will cost a considerable sum to change the gearbox, and provided a light body is fitted we believe that even with the high bottom gear it should be possible for the owner to climb Porlock.

(2) Petrol tank, bottom half crankcase, clutch. To be replaced by standard parts free of charge. Oil and petrol systems to be made standard.

(3) Cylinder Head. The cylinder head off this car is of no use to us. We suggest that it is scrapped, as the compression ratio is too high for reasonable use on the road, and a standard, or nearly standard head be fitted.

We believe that we can supply an experimental head, which we suggest might be charged to Mr. Hall at half price.

All the other experimental fittings we shall remove from the car.
