2. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les.4/MH.{M. Huckerby} We are still very interested in your dampers. In view of the continual trouble which we experience from parts made outside these works, some of our people are rather in favour of our dampers always being made at Derby. A possible compromise would be for you to supply the complete damper less valve, so that we made the valve and did the final assembly and testing. It would be useful if you could prepare an estimate for the cost of 1,000 dampers less valves, and let us know the exact position in case we did want to produce the dampers ourselves. If you had this information available when you come to our works next week it should help progress considerably. As Mr. Robotham will be back on Monday, I should imagine that Wednesday or Thursday would be convenient to us for a general discussion. Yours sincerely, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
