A.R.I.C. RADIATOR THERMOMETER DISTANCE READING DASHBOARD FITTING DIAL FOR DASHBOARD Notes of Interest to All Motorists A COLD engine always pulls badly, and is, therefore, wasteful; and correspondingly, an engine which is too hot will defeat lubrication, which will result in a big repair bill for worn bearings, burnt valves, piston rings, etc. The correct utilization and control of the heat generated by your engine will enable you to obtain very much more pulling power, speed, and life out of your engine. Only by carefully watching the temperature of your engine will you be able, not only to effect considerable economy in petrol and oil, but also in maintenance expenses. In order to obtain the full benefit of the thermometer, two points are of vital importance. Firstly, that the thermometer shall be a very accurate instrument and secondly that it should be directly under your eye, that is to say, fitted on to your dashboard. The “A.R.I.C.” dashboard fitting Radiator Thermometer is indispensable to every discriminating Motorist who takes an intelligent interest in his engine. Its chief use is to indicate the true temperature of the water as it leaves the engine; thus giving the driver an accurate indication of the performance of his engine and cooling and oiling systems. Specialized methods of production have enabled us to produce a highly sensitive and extremely accurate distance-reading Thermometer, which, being of robust design, will withstand road vibration. At the same time, it is of very attractive appearance, and will readily give grace to the instrument board of even the most expensive car. BULB FOR RADIATOR Manufacturing Features FINISH and DESIGN, both internally and externally, will challenge comparison with those of any other manufacture. The CASE and BEZEL are made from aluminium die castings, and are attractive in appearance. The WALLS of the CASE are 1/8 in. thick, thus giving great rigidity to the Instrument. The MOVEMENT is of the rack and pinion type, and is secured to a hot brass stamping, which, in turn, is securely fixed inside the case. By the above it will be seen that it is possible to make all necessary adjustments to the instrument before mounting into the case. GUARANTEED ACCURACY WITHIN 1° CENTIGRADE Only the best of material and skilled workmanship are used in the production of this instrument. FITTING IS SIMPLE and, once fitted, the instrument calls for no further attention.
