Query regarding a special order for a clockwise rotating distributor for a Delco-Remy Battery Ignition system.

Upon receipt of yours EFC2/T12.9.25, we sent our order No.47222 to Messrs.Delco-Remy & Hyatt Ltd. for:- ONE Semi-Automatic Control Type Ignition Equipment, including Coil, of the particular type shown by their outlines O02178 and O05249 and stated we should like the equipment to be suitable for 12 volts and the direction of rotation looking at the driving or shaft end of the unit to be clockwise. We are this morning in receipt of a letter from the above-mentioned firm dated 18th inst. as follows:- "We thank you for your letter of 15th inst. "together with your order number 47222 calling for One "Delco Ignition equipment, consisting of Distributor "Model 5249 and Ignition Coil Model 2178, as quoted "for by us on the 1st inst. "We note, however, that you require the distributor "to be for clockwise rotation, viewed from the driving "end, whereas this distributor is arranged as standard "for counter-clockwise rotation, as shown on our blue-"print No.O05249 enclosed with our letter of the 4th inst. "While it is of course possible for us to change the "direction of rotation, it involves a considerable amount "of alteration to do so, and were you to order quantities "of this distributor for clockwise rotation, it would "somewhat complicate matters, as the unit would then be "not standard. We are therefore hoping that it will be "possible for you to incorporate this unit with a rotation "of counter-clockwise, and shall be very glad to hear from "you at your earliest convenience as to whether this can "be done. "There is of course no difficulty in supplying the "complete equipment for operation on 12 volts as you "request, and thanking you in anticipation of your reply "to the above-mentioned point."
