EXHAUST SYSTEM FOR 4-PER.II & 5-PER.II.

The final exhaust system for these chassis should be the same as fitted to 3-Per.II for 10,000 miles test with the exception that the front resonance chamber should be made in thicker gauge material to stop tinny noises.

(1) Front downtake pipe and resonance chamber to R.R.Sch.233/6 modified to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}911 but using 14 gauge material for the resonance chamber. No stay to crankcase.

(2) Main silencer to the modifications sketched on R.R.sch.213 (as fitted to 3-Per.II) further modified by using a 1.750" diam. central pipe drilled as per sketch given to I.Elston for modifying the silencer on 3-Per.II.

(3) 1.750" diam. tail pipe, no fish tail, and rear support as on 3-Per.II.
