The cars of the new type will consist of the following:- Already made 7.B.V. 1.B.50 30.G.VII. 8.B.V. 2.B.50 Instructed in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}1/MR.18.7.38. 9.B.V. 3.B.50 10.B.V. 11.B.V. Specification as follows To be built later 12.B.V. Engine. 10.B.V. 11.B.V. and 3.B.50. B.III No.7 for 10.B.V. ) As in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/swdl.{Len H. Swindell}S/R.{Sir Henry Royce} B.III No.6 " 2.B.50. ) 23.8.38. The others will have cast iron engines which will be instructed later. Gearbox. We have not yet instructed boxes for 2.B.50 and 30.G.VII. Six boxes are, therefore, required to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}7/MR. 21.7.38. part B. with a reverse gear to FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}245. Four boxes should have small cones FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}239, and two Buick cones FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}246. Three should have overdrive ratios, one standard ratios FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}82 and two boxes overdrive ratios with the second speed altered from 26/19 to 27/18, these latter for B.50's. Rear Axle. Until we have tested Timken bearings, and overcome the gear surface failure, and until there are drawings of the new tube and spring seats we cannot instruct any axles. Wheels. These are being ordered by Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} and Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Frame. 10.B.V. and 11.B.V. as 9.B.V. 3.B.50 as 2.B.50. Front Suspension. Springs for B.III's FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} 3826 8" deflection " B.50's FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} 3947 8" " All springs to be shot blasted and cadmium plated but not pickled or cyanided. | ||
