re Type A.A. Gun.

Very many thanks for your [illegible due to signature] re our Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/JH.14.9.40. concerning the installation of the type A.A. Gun in the Spitfire Wing.

When we were at Supermarines a short while ago, we persuaded them to send us a print of the rear mounting stirrup which they are using for the .500 bore Browning in the Spitfire Mk.{R. E. B. Meade-King} I. We attach herewith their print No. 54860 (Sheet 2) D which you might like to trace for reference and return to us.

If the Type A.A. gun could be made to take this mounting our objective of interchangeability with the .500 Browning would be achieved.
