1032 (Experimental Dept.) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GR{George Ratcliffe}4/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 9th December, 1936. The Zenith Carburetter Co.,Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, Middlesex. For the attention of Mr. A.E. Palmer. Dear Sirs, Torsion Spring - P.17068. 30 H.P. Stromberg D.C. 42. We find the above spring is not quite strong enough to close the choke entirely, i.e., after being in service for a few months. I suggest the following alteration as per drawing enclosed. Will you please supply 6 springs (altered) so that I may test them on experimental cars, as soon as possible. I would welcome your comments, if any, as I shall recommend this for production after test. Phantom III - Stromberg E.E.C.42. Will you please supply 9 by-pass jets .055" for test purposes on the above. An order will follow officially in due course. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd., | ||
