Consequently under light brake applications, which is when squeaks occur, the pilot shoe tips will not touch atall. Furthermore the tipping shoe on the wrapping shoe appears to be mechanically unsound as it will tend to wear so as to make itself ineffective. Hdy.{William Hardy} has gone into this question.
