PETROL PUMP PARTS.

In reply to your Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/JT.13/JN.14.4.39. in respect of parts not to the latest drawings which have been rejected by our inspection.

All these parts, we presume, refer to those found in repair pumps and not to new stock.

All damaged diaphragms should be replaced free of charge, provided they have been fitted by the S.U. Co. when the pump was sent there for repair.

Coil Housings.

The 16 in which the core (Fixed sleeve) is not concentric with the core can be remedied by using an end cutter.

This method has been in use at the S.U. Co. and at the Paris Depot.

We can provide a cutter for this purpose.

The 7 in which the roller race is too shallow will have to be scrap if the minus below the .103 + 5 exceeds .004".

The 7 cracked end plates will have to be replaced this will also apply to any other damaged parts such as contact platforms.

The 2 in which the core is plus .020 .193 + 10 dimension can be corrected by tapping in the core after removing the contact gear.

The valve cages should be scrapped if the cage is more than .005" less than on the .343 diam.

These recommendations only apply to repair pumps and on all new pumps the limits imposed must be rigidly adhered to, and also on all new parts bought from the S.U.
