For the attention of Mr. Hives.
Dear Sirs,
We thank you very much for your letter of yesterday's date in which you kindly say you will place an order with us for Aviation spirit for trial.
As explained to you, we are very anxious that any supply of Special Aviation Fuel conforming to D.T.D.134. Specification which we might make to you should have exactly the same properties as the spirit which you are at present using. If you are agreeable, we would like to collect from your Works a sample (say one gallon) of this spirit so that we may carry out a thorough test and give you an exact match, as we think that this would avoid any possibility of your experimental work being affected.
We much look forward to receiving your order in due course, which will have our personal attention.
We are,
Yours faithfully,
Carless, Capel & Leonard
